Group Rules & Code of Conduct
All rules and the code of conduct apply at all times and by entering our group chats or meets you are agree to all listed below:
1. Group Chats
1.1 The main group chats should be used for things relating to Norfolk Furs, our meets and sharing/discussing things that are related to the wider fandom
1.2 Off topic discussions are tolerated if brief as long as they meet all the content rules. There are off topic chats on our Discord server and we encourage you to use those.
1.3 Spamming the chat in anyway will not be tolerated.
1.4 Staff will ask to change the subject or take messages elsewhere if they feel the conversation has strayed off topic long enough. Please respect this.
1.5 Please do not use the group chats for private conversations. You may be asked to move to DMs by staff if they feel a discussion with only 2 or 3 people in it has gone on long enough. Please respect this.
2. Content
2.1 Please keep all discussion at a PG level, ensuring that content is censored or given warnings where necessary.
2.2 Anything with political, homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist etc. content will be removed without question.
2.3 NSFW content (including sticker packs which contain nsfw material) is not allowed within the main group chats - we have dedicated areas for this content instead if needed. If you are unsure if the content can or should be posted it's better to err on the side of caution and either censor anyway or refrain from posting.
2.4 Advertisements are allowed within the group, one per week unless told otherwise. If you are unsure whether your advertisement is appropriate for the group, feel free to contact a member of staff for confirmation.
2.5 Advertisements of other groups (e.g. furmeets, group chats) are not allowed.
2.6 No AI generated content, or the tools for its creation, should be shared or linked to on any of our platforms.
2.7 Staff reserve the right to remove messages from group chats at any time.
3. Conduct
3.1 Although not everyone will get along, we expect our attendees to treat each other with respect within our group chats and in-person events.
3.2 Do not bring outside issues into the group unless they are likely to cause direct harm in our part of the community. Staff are not here to deal with personal fallings out and encourage you to resolve these issues yourselves, but we are there to help should things escalate out of hand.
3.3 Callout/beware posts are not allowed to be posted/shared within the group and will be removed.
3.4 No begging or guilt-tripping of any form toward any users or attendees is permitted.
4. Safety
4.1 Safety is our top priority, if there are any problems or issues that may affect the group as a whole please bring it to the attention of a member of staff so that it can be dealt with accordingly. We will take every matter seriously and take action where appropriate.
4.2 Please do not organise any fursuit walks or similar events without consulting a member of staff beforehand.
4.3 Norfolk Furs admin and staff cannot be held accountable for any damage to any persons or property.
5. Harassment
5.1 Bullying, harassment or discrimination of any kind is not tolerated. We are an open group for everyone to express themselves in a safe environment.
5.2 Costume ≠ consent. Do not touch, hug or take photos of someone without their explicit consent.
5.3 All attendees are expected to not only respect an individual's boundaries but also their belongings. Please do not invade someone's personal space.
6. Fursuiting
6.1 Please only use the fursuit room for storing fursuits. If you need to store anything else during a meet, please speak to a member of staff.
6.2 Do not block the door to the fursuit room with suits or bags.
6.3 Avoid moving other people's belongings in the fursuit room.
6.4 No food or drink is to be brought into the fursuit room, sealed or otherwise.
6.5 Do not stay in the fursuit room longer than needed or enter if you aren't a suiters/assisting a suiter. The room is too small for people to stay longer than needed.
7. Prop Weapons
7.1 Prop weapons at meets must first be checked in person by a member of staff who will let you know if it is ok
7.2 Any realistic/replica weapons, or weapons capable of shooting projectiles (with the exception of foam/need darts), should not be brought to the meets.
7.3 No prop weapons are to be brought on the fursuit walks or be on display outside of the venue.
7.4 Pictures featuring airsoft/replica weapons should be censored in the group chat where possible and tagged with an appropriate content warning.
8. Rules, Warnings and Bans
8.1 The rules and code of conduct are under constant review and may be updated at any time.
8.2 If any of the rules here are broken or you have been deemed to not be following our code of conduct, a member of staff or admin may reach out to you via DM.
8.3 Where possible, we will try and advice what you can do differently or help point out and no further action will be taken. But if you persist, you will be issued with a warning.
8.4 Upon your third warning, you will receive a ban from the meets and all group chats.
8.5 If you decide to block staff/admins, then we will not be able to issue a warning so will issue an instant ban instead.
8.6 If your actions are deemed serious enough, you will receive no warnings and will be banned instantly.
8.7 All decisions on warnings and bans are final.
